At Mu Yi, we always carry out a polishing process during the production and processing of ceramic fibre boards. However, many companies do not polish their ceramic fibre boards, as this reduces costs. Nevertheless, ever since we established our factory, we at Mu Yi have consistently insisted on polishing the ceramic fibre boards we produce. So why is it essential to polish ceramic fibre boards?
This is because, once polished, ceramic fibre boards not only have a more aesthetically pleasing surface but also exhibit improved performance characteristics in various aspects, such as enhanced durability and toughness. It can therefore be said that the quality of the polishing process influences the product quality and performance of the ceramic fibre boards to a certain extent; consequently, great care must be taken to ensure the polishing is carried out correctly.

Ceramic fibre boards are generally polished using the following three methods:
1. Grinding and polishing ceramic fibre boards using Al₂O₃ micro-powder or diamond grinding paste.
2. Grinding and polishing using laser and ultrasonic processing.
3. Grinding in stages from coarse to fine using materials harder than the ceramic fibre boards themselves, such as diamond or silicon carbide.
Of course, there are many other polishing methods available on the market, but not all of them are necessarily suitable for polishing ceramic fibre boards. It is therefore essential to strictly adhere to the correct procedures when polishing ceramic fibre boards; otherwise, an incorrect polishing method will not only fail to improve the performance of the ceramic fibre boards but may actually reduce their performance, thereby compromising the product’s integrity.
