Ceramic fibre boards and ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels are two common types of ceramic fibre products, which differ in terms of manufacturing processes, applications and performance. They are also utilised in thermal insulation, heat resistance and sound absorption projects within the construction, metallurgy and chemical industries.
Ceramic fibre fire-resistant boards, on the other hand, are primarily used in high-temperature equipment, furnaces, kilns, hot pipelines and other locations requiring fire protection and thermal insulation. Owing to their outstanding refractory and thermal insulation properties, they can effectively prevent the spread of flames and the transmission of high-temperature heat, providing safer protection for both equipment and personnel.
III. Performance Characteristics
1. Thermal Insulation Properties: Both ceramic fibre boards and ceramic fibre fire-resistant boards possess good thermal insulation properties. Ceramic fibre boards, in particular, have a low thermal conductivity, which effectively reduces heat transfer and enhances the thermal insulation effect. Ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels, however, offer even superior thermal insulation performance, as special fire-retardant agents are added during the manufacturing process to better prevent the spread of heat.
2. Fire Resistance: Ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels possess outstanding fire resistance. At high temperatures, they maintain good structural integrity and are resistant to deformation, cracking or burning. At the same time, they effectively prevent the spread of flames, providing safer protection for both equipment and personnel. Ceramic fibre boards, however, do not possess such outstanding fire resistance.
3. Thermal Insulation: Ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels offer good thermal insulation, effectively reducing heat radiation from high temperatures to the surrounding environment. They also help alleviate operational stress on equipment, thereby extending its service life. In contrast, the thermal insulation properties of ceramic fibre boards are relatively poor.
4. Sound Absorption: Ceramic fibre boards possess good sound absorption properties, effectively absorbing various types of noise and vibration to provide a quieter and more comfortable working and living environment. In contrast, ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels have poorer sound absorption properties and do not possess this characteristic.
5. Service Life: As ceramic fibre fire-resistant panels are manufactured using high-quality raw materials and advanced production processes, they have a relatively long service life, offering high durability and stability. In contrast, ceramic fibre boards have a relatively short service life and require regular replacement and maintenance.
In summary, there are certain differences between ceramic fibre boards and ceramic fibre fire-resistant boards in terms of manufacturing processes, applications and performance.
