The box-type resistance furnace features programmable control functions, allowing for the programming of temperature, time and heating rates (both fast and slow); it has a furnace chamber lined with aluminium silicate ceramic fibre boards, whilst the furnace body features a double-walled design and is fitted with a cooling fan, ensuring that the surface of the furnace body remains close to ambient temperature during operation.
Applications: Intended for use in laboratories at industrial and mining enterprises, universities and colleges, and research institutions for the analysis of chemical elements and high-temperature heat treatment—such as quenching, annealing and tempering—of small steel components; It may also be used for high-temperature heating applications such as sintering, melting and analysis of metals, stoneware and ceramics.
Features:
(1) Unique furnace door design: Opening the door is safe and straightforward, ensuring that high-temperature hot air does not escape from the furnace; the door seal minimises heat loss and enhances temperature uniformity within the furnace chamber.
(2) Corrosion-resistant, lightweight furnace chamber: Durable and long-lasting.
(3) Ceramic fibre panels: Excellent thermal insulation ensures a low surface temperature of the furnace casing.
(4) Multi-stage programmable controller: Computerised PID control simplifies complex testing procedures, enabling true automatic control and operation; it is easy to use and provides precise, reliable and safe temperature control.
(5) Multiple ventilation holes facilitate rapid heat dissipation without affecting the service life of the main unit.
When using a muffle furnace, improper operation may easily lead to safety incidents such as scalding, burns or other injuries; therefore, it is essential to observe the following safety procedures during operation:
Before starting:
a) Always switch off the power supply before loading or unloading samples to prevent electric shock.
b) Do not place samples contaminated with water or oil into the furnace chamber; do not use tongs contaminated with water or oil to handle samples
c) Samples must be placed in the centre of the furnace chamber and arranged neatly; do not place them haphazardly.
During operation, do not open the furnace door. At all times, monitor changes in the resistance furnace’s heating temperature and ensure it does not exceed the maximum temperature rating of the furnace.
After heating is complete:
a) Wait for the temperature inside the furnace chamber to cool naturally before opening the door. When loading or unloading samples, do not touch the furnace or surrounding samples carelessly; wear specialised gloves to prevent burns.
b) After use, switch off the power supply and close the furnace door securely to prevent the refractory ceramic fibre boards from being damaged by moisture.
c) Do not pour any liquids or molten metals directly into the chamber of the box furnace; keep the chamber clean at all times.
